Easy 3 Ingredient Bread

Easy 3 Ingredient Bread

This is so simple yet delicious. Get the kids to help you as it won’t take long and they will be proud of something they created.

The secret to this recipe is a dutch oven. Must have as it helps to trap and steam the heat in the bread giving it a puffy rise and soft, moist texture.

Give this a whirl and let me know how it turned out.

Equipment

  • Dutch Oven

Materials

  • 3 cups white flour
  • 2 tsp rapid rise yeast
  • 2 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1.5 cups warm water

Instructions

  • In mixing bowl add the flour, yeast and salt and mix well.
  • Now slowly add the warm water (Luke warm not hot). Only add a little of the water at a time and continue to mx with the ingredients.
  • Once all the ingredients are mixed together and you have a dough ball. Place it on the counter and fold it and knead it for a bout 30 seconds to a min. (not a lot of kneading needs to be done).
  • Place the dough ball back into the mixing bowl and cover completely with plastic wrap. Set it aside out of direct sunlight and allow it to rise. Between 2-3 hours is best.
  • Pre heat oven to 350F or 180 C
Once oven is pre heated, place dutch oven with lid on to heat up.
  • Let the dutch oven get hot with the lid on for about 10 minutes.
  • Now take out the dutch oven (be careful it's hot) and remove the lid. Place some parchment paper in the pot and add the dough. Place the lid back on and allow to bake for about 50-60 minutes pending on your oven.
  • After the 60 minutes the bread should look a bit white still. Remove the lid from the dutch oven and place the bread back in for about 10-15 minutes to brown the top.
  • Once done, place the bread on the bakers rack and allow to cool a bit.

Notes

The cooler the bread the easier to slice. But have a go at it when it is a bit warm still and add some vegan butter or fresh jam and enjoy.
P.S.
Please note this recipe only works well with a dutch oven as it creates a steady heat and bit of a steam on the inside to help create the air pockets in the bread.
